Work Specification (Sound absorption)

Scope of Application and Definitions

The specifications shall be applied to construction work for sound absorption. At any point that it can not be determined to use the specifications or they are not described, the supervisor should be consulted in advance for selection of materials and work methods, and his or her instructions should be followed.

T-MAX is the brand name of a polyester staple fiber product that passed the carding process, was treated into the form of web, heat sealed, and was finally processed into the form of sheets.

Material

Properties
Base material: Polyester organic material
NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) : 0.75 ~ 0.80
Heat conductivity: 0.028 ~ 0.035 kcal/mh¡É
Density and thickness: 24 ~ 200 kg/§© and 5 ~ 100 mm
Withstand temperature: 260¡É
Gas emission: Ignorable
Weather resistance: Maintains good condition after exposure to weather conditions for a long time due to strong consistency of the material.
Heat resistance: Self-extinguishing. Melts at 260¡É / Not totally inflammable.
Water absorption: Does not absorb well. Even if a small amount has been absorbed, it is quickly drained and does not deteriorate the performance of sound absorption and heat insulation.
Recycling: 100% recyclable / Incineration possible.
Environmental friendliness: Ignorable amount of suspended particles does

T-MAX, used as a sound absorption material, is a product made from sound absorption and heat insulation material and finished with inflammable and fire retardant fiber, and, is a newly developed, environmentally friendly material absolutely safe to human health, same as the substitution materials for glass wool and rock wool by manufacturers in Europe and the U.S.

Characteristics of Material
Base materials: 100% polyester fiber and fire retardant fabric
Product size: 1,000 x 2,000 mm, 1,000 x 1,000 mm and customized sizes

Work with Sound Absorption Materials

Material
Inspection of Material
¥¡ Before material is delivered to the site, a test report issued by a state authorized institution should be
submitted to the site manager or the supervisor.
¥¢ In case of material that has been already delivered to the site, if necessary, the site manager or the
supervisor should request a state authorized institution to issue a test report for quality management.

Transportation, Storage and Handling of Material

¥¡ When transporting, storing and handling the material, care should be taken not to damage the sound
    absorption material.
¥¢ The material should be stored, separated in accordance with its characteristics, uses, types and shapes,
and should be kept away from sunlight or humidity.

Construction Work
General Instruction for Construction Work
¥¡ Auxiliary thermal insulation material, installation material and tools should be prepared depending on the
thermal insulation material and work methods.
¥¢ The surface to attach thermal insulation material on should be cleared of nails, metal wire and mortar, cleaned
and smoothed, in order not to cause any problems in the construction work.
¥£ In case multiple layers are installed and it is necessary to join T-MAX, the joining areas of each layer should
not overlap those of the other layers.
¥¤ Any gaps between the materials should be avoided as much as possible. If there are gaps, they should be
filled with snippets of T-MAX products.

Work Methods for Walls

¥¡ Free Cap Method
Clean the base surface ¡æ Determine the locations of free cap pins and fix the pins (at 314 x 450 mm intervals)
    ¡æ Install T-MAX ¡æ Set Caps ¡æ Finish with G/S
¥¢ Furring Strip (Styrofoam) Method
Clean the base surface ¡æ Ink the lines (at 330 intervals) ¡æ Install Furring Strip (Girth) ¡æ Install T-MAX
    (330 x 1,800) ¡æ Finish with G/S
¥£ Dry Wall Method
Clean the base surface ¡æ Fix runners/studs ¡æ Install G/S 2 plies on one side ¡æ Install T-MAX ¡æ Finish
G/S 2 plies on the finishing side
¥¤ Double Bracket Method
Clean the base surface ¡æ Ink the lines (at 450 x 330 intervals) ¡æ Fix double bracket pins ¡æ Install T-MAX
¡æ Set double bracket caps ¡æ Finish G/S
¥¥ Pin Method (for Ceiling)
Clean the base surface ¡æ Determine the locations of pins and fix them ¡æ Install T-MAX ¡æ Set pin caps
    ¡æ Finish G/S

Warnings for Construction Work
¥¡ Properly ventilate the thermal insulation material that has been filled, so that it can dry properly
(in case of masonry Block Structure).
¥¢ Inspect and make sure that the thermal insulation material has been evenly filled without leaving any gaps.
    3) Make sure that the thermal insulation material has been tightly secured to the wall surface
¥£ In order not to allow expansion of the material, install the wooden surface frame so that it matches the
thickness of the thermal insulation material on the wall surface. Cut the material around the frame and make
sure that the material fits with the frame tightly then install the Furring Strip (Girth).
¥¤ Pay attention so that there are no gaps in the thermal insulation material at the joint areas in the walls and
    floors.
¥¥ Construction work of thermal insulation in the ceiling should be done when attaching the finishing material.
The thermal insulation material should be cut to precisely fit with the frame.
¥¦ After installation of the ceiling base material or the ceiling finishing material, install the thermal insulation
material tightly so that there are no gaps between the sheets or at the joint areas of the ceiling and walls.
¥§ Safe handling of the material ensures smooth work completion but always pay attention to avoid any accidents
    during construction work.
